We are looking forward to an active and exciting year for this Section and welcome your participation in the Section. During 2018-19, the Section will continue its primary mission: addressing all things related to Dispute Resolution in Florida; acting as a resource for Section members who want to pursue dispute resolution as advocates or neutrals; and providing information and input to the Florida Supreme Court and other rule-making bodies regarding our Section Members’ opinions on proposed actions that will affect ADR in Florida.
The current slate of Officers to the Section are: Christina Magee, Chair; Kim Torres, Chair-Elect; Michelle Jernigan, Treasurer; Dominic Brandy, Secretary and Robert A. Cole, Immediate Past Chair. I encourage you to contact any of us about issues that you think need to be considered. Or. If you would like to participate in any of our EC meetings, please get in touch. We meet monthly by phone, and in-person in January and June.
For the latest on our CLE offerings, and other news of interest to the Section, keep an eye out for our Facebook page updates and our Section tweets – these are the most current and up-to-date ways for us to keep you in the loop as to what your Section is doing. We have several videos up on the Young Lawyers Division Legal Accelerator link that explain or provide advice on various issues that come up regularly in mediations. If you haven’t viewed these yet, they are well worth your time. Our goal is to keep our Section members fully informed about need-to-know information that affects their practices and the ADR profession.
Our long-range goal is to make the ADR Section one of the FL Bar’s top-performing Sections. Come join us and be a part of our success!
