This course will provide insight to attorneys considering the transition from a client-centered representation practice to a neutral practice where ADR services are the attorney’s primary endeavor. Presenters Kelly Overstreet Johnson and Christina Magee will discuss ethical issues that apply to this transition. In addition, the presentation will address practical obstacles that await the full-time neutral practice: Do you have to have an office and/or staff person to successfully market your full-time practice; how do you handle billing and collections; what about insurance issues – are health and malpractice coverages needed and what should be expected in terms of options and costs; what about technology issues and other overhead issues (how little is too little vs. how much is too much). There will be an identification of the ethical issues and the ethics rules that apply from both the perspective of the neutral as well as the professional responsibility rules applicable to every Florida lawyer. Approved for 1.0 General, 1.0 Ethics CLE and CME credit. Course 4009. REGISTER NOW
